POSITION TITLE:
P/T Visitor Services Attendant at Pioneer Works $20/hr, 24 hours per week

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Visitor Services Attendants work to welcome and host the public at Pioneer Works during public hours and during select events & programming. Attendants perform a variety of functions including greeting and checking in guests, soliciting donations, and informing visitors of current and upcoming programs, events and residencies. They also assist with tasks related to the opening and closing of the building such as counting cash, shutting down exhibitions, and setting up/striking the space before and after events.

In addition, individuals in this role may have the opportunity to take on more hours for administrative work related to other departmental projects, if there is work available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gallery

Engage with visitors in the space, providing exceptional customer service, answering questions, and sharing information related to Pioneer Works public hours, exhibition content, programs, residencies and upcoming events
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Pioneer Works programming, Membership benefits and events, tour topics and offerings, daily gallery closing procedures, and operational procedures
Track daily visitor attendance and collect contact and marketing information
Monitor cash donations and manage shift cash count
Receive and compile visitor feedback
Further knowledge of Pioneer Works content and programing through participation in programs, curational walkthroughs, and crit nights
Bookstore

Assist with bookstore operations by processing customer purchases and increasing retail sales through suggestive selling techniques
Track retail stock and sales of featured works from Pioneer Press through regular inventory
Restock products that are sold and maintain a clean and welcoming storefront
Events

Assist event producers in setting up chairs and other event materials before events
Manage attendee check-in via Eventbrite, including comp & guest lists
Process door sales via Eventbrite
Other Departmental Support

Opportunities for additional administrative tasks in support of other departmental projects, as available, to be determined, discussed and agreed upon with the Manager of Visitor Services and other department heads

COMPENSATION
$20/hour
