Join the NYCHA Board

Board members represent the almost 400,000 people who call NYCHA home. Their responsibilities include voting on contracts, resolutions, polices, rules and regulations and other administrative matters.  Resident members are required to devote a minimum of 15-20 hours each month for which they will receive a monthly stipend per hours of services up to $1,500. To qualify, constituents must be: at least 18 years old; a NYCHA resident in good standing; and cleared for service by the New York City Department of Investigation, the New York City Conflicts of Interest Board and/or NYCHA's Office of the Inspector General The application period will start on September 15, 2018 and end October 15, 2018. Applications will be available online and at the Property Management and Borough Management Offices. Fleet Week Read Aloud

Fleet Week New York, now in its 30th year, is the city’s time-honored celebration of the sea services. It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guards, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. The weeklong celebration has been held nearly every year since 1984.

Do you want to share your experience of Hurricane Sandy? If it has to do with the Red Hook waterfront, we want your story! Red Hook WaterStories tells the history of Red Hook with a water theme. It is NYC’s maritime story in microcosm, coupled with an in-depth guide to contemporary Red Hook plus a Resiliency 101 section.
