Resident Empowerment Training-Run A Successful Meeting

SATURDAY MAY 19TH 2:30PM - 4:30PM Learn tips and methods on how to facilitate a meeting or a workshop. These workshops provide training for anyone who is: A resident in a community that wants to become more involved in making changes. Someone who works in a community that needs access to better resources. A leader in their community (Tenant Association President, Community Activist, Organizer, etc. ) Looking for employment in grassroots organizing. Shape Up NYC – Cardio Sculpt Group Fitness Class

When: Saturdays at 10:00 am, from May 12, 2018 until December 29, 2018

Where: Red Hook Recreation Center, 155 Bay St., Brooklyn, NY

This class is designed to blast your cardio fitness and work your muscles in every way possible. Through a combination of strength training (with resistance bands) and high intensity cardio, this class will help you strengthen and tone your entire body and increase your cardio fitness levels. Just bring some water and a towel and get ready to have fun!

Fleet Week Read Aloud

It is an unparalleled opportunity for the citizens of New York and the surrounding tri-state area to meet Sailors, Marines and Coast Guards, as well as witness firsthand the latest capabilities of today’s maritime services. Red Hook WaterStories presents a "Talk to a Historian" Event! Share and learn local history. Did you, do you fish on Long Dock? Work at Todd? White Rock? Do you want to share your experience of Hurricane Sandy? If it has to do with the Red Hook waterfront, we want your story! Red Hook WaterStories tells the history of Red Hook with a water theme. It is NYC’s maritime story in microcosm, coupled with an in-depth guide to contemporary Red Hook plus a Resiliency 101 section. Part of the PortSide New York "Mary" Month of May Festival Red Hook WaterStories is a project of PortSide NewYork and is supported by Councilman Carlos Menchaca, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew M.
