Healthy Mom/ Healthy Baby Workshop

 8 -week Parenting Workshops! These workshops are two days a week (Tues & Thurs). (All HM/HB workshops are facilitated by moms that have previously completed the HM/HB program) We will also be having a program for Dads. Young Dads Unite, will begin on Weds, April 18th, 6-8 pm every Weds at 76 Lorraine Street. APPLICATIONS DEADLINE: March 23, 2018 In collaboration with the Manhattan Solid Waste Advisory Board and Borough President Gale Brewer, Citizens Committee is awarding grants of up to $750 to start or expand compost projects in NYC. Groups such as community gardens, schools, tenant associations, and community organizations in all 5 boroughs are eligible for the grant. Grant funds can be used to build compost bins, purchase other compost materials or tools, do outreach and education, and more. Download the application here:

Youth Coordinator Internship

When: Mondays, from March 12, 2018 until June 4, 2018

Where: Dance Theatre Etcetera

Dance Theatre Etcetera (DTE) seeks an intern to coordinate youth performance group performances in the 25th annual Red Hook Fest on June 1st and 2nd, 2018. Tasks will include working with DTE staff to identify youth performance groups, contacting their director and scheduling a visit to a class or rehearsal. Youth Group Coordensure will ensure that each youth group completes the paperwork required to participate in the Red Hook Fest, understands their call time and their performance time on site at the festival and that each group that requires audio playback sends their audio track to the Red Hook Fest Production Manager in advance of the event. The intern will also update documents on Google Drive with participating youth group information. The intern will be expected to work both days of the fest to assist the festival crew and will be in charge of Youth Group Check-In. Read more and apply here:

Mixed Doubles: Photographs of People in Pairs by Teri Slotkin

Kentler International Drawing Space and the Red Hook Library are partnering to present an exhibition of photographs from Teri Slotkin's MIXED DOUBLES series, taken in Red Hook between 1994-1998. On view in the library between December 14, 2017 and February 8, 2018. The MIXED DOUBLES series is part of the Red Hook Archives, a collection of maps, photographs, and printed materials documenting Red Hook's rich history and diverse population housed at the Kentler International Drawing Space on Van Brunt Street.
