NYCHA’s Family Re-entry Pilot Program.

Where: Brooklyn Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon St.

NYCHA’s Family Re-entry Pilot Program allows individuals recently released from prison or jail the opportunity to live in NYCHA housing. The Brooklyn Borough Hall President’s Office, in collaboration with the Vera Institute of Justice, will be hosting an Information Session on the program on Wednesday, October 26 from 5-9pm. If an individual would like to live with family in NYCHA housing and they've recently been released from jail or prison, this program may be for them! Some of the program benefits are: · You’ll be given temporary permission to live with your family. · Your permanent exclusion will be suspended (if you have one). · Your family’s rent will not change. · Upon completion of the program, you can apply to get your permanent exclusion removed and request to be added to the lease! Join us on October 26 to learn more about the program, meet different Brooklyn-based reentry services who can help individuals apply, and enjoy an interactive play from the Theatre of the Oppressed NYC. We are looking for interesting people highly opinionated and team players from our diverse neighborhood to join our Debate teams. Age is not an issue since we will be covering many different topics and the more participation the better. Councilman Carlos Menchaca has agreed to join…. WILL YOU????? A SAMPLE OF THE TOPICS TO BE DEBATED: Who is responsible for the dog poo all over Red Hook? Is global warming an issue? Are alternative energy sources effective and justified?
