NYCHA’s Family Re-entry Pilot Program.

NYCHA’s Family Re-entry Pilot Program allows individuals recently released from prison or jail the opportunity to live in NYCHA housing. The Brooklyn Borough Hall President’s Office, in collaboration with the Vera Institute of Justice, will be hosting an Information Session on the program on Wednesday, October 26 from 5-9pm. If an individual would like to live with family in NYCHA housing and they've recently been released from jail or prison, this program may be for them! Some of the program benefits are: · You’ll be given temporary permission to live with your family. · Your permanent exclusion will be suspended (if you have one). · Your family’s rent will not change. · Upon completion of the program, you can apply to get your permanent exclusion removed and request to be added to the lease! Join us on October 26 to learn more about the program, meet different Brooklyn-based reentry services who can help individuals apply, and enjoy an interactive play from the Theatre of the Oppressed NYC.
