BNS Kindergarten Admissions

When: January 5-15, 2016

Where: 610 Henry St

Brooklyn New School is taking applications for Kindergarten students. BNS is part of a new DOE cohort of schools cultivating a rich diversity in its student body. The school, on the border of Red Hook, called the PS 27 building on Huntington its first home when it was founded there in 1987. It has served many Red Hook children throughout the past few decades, yet currently the school feels the need to reach out to the community. BNS is very sought-out by families across the borough but has seen fewer Red Hook families apply. Several Red Hook parents of current BNS students are happy to talk to prospective parents in the coming weeks, as the Kindergarten admissions deadline approaches. BNS has placed priority on children whose families qualify for free and reduced price lunch after prioritizing siblings and current pre-k children. Apply here: http://schools.nyc.gov/ChoicesEnrollment/Elementary/kindergarten.html. BNS's DOE number is PS 146.
