The Red Hook Youth Court is hiring teens ages 14-18 to hear court cases of other teens and want to learn about law and serve their communities.
Accepted applicants must complete an UNPAID 6-8 week training to prepare for service on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:15-6:30PM
After becoming a youth court member, youth can earn $100 per month for working 4-6 hours per week!

We are pleased to announce that the Justice Center will once again be serving as a pop-up site for the IDNYC program from September 12th – September 23rd. We first served as a pop-up site in January of this year; well it was such a resounding success that they want to come back to Red Hook!
IDNYC is a free government issued identification card for all New York City residents, which offers a number of benefits including free memberships to many city museums, zoos, and botanical gardens, and discounts at many businesses. Anyone who lives in NYC and is at least 14 years old is eligible, and can apply here at the Justice Center between Sept. 12 and 23.

On Tuesday, April 12th from 4:00 – 7:00pm. The Red Hook Community Justice Center will host our 7th Annual Youth Internship and Opportunity Fair in partnership with Community Board 6, Good Shepherd Services, Red Hook Initiative.
We will open our doors to young people between the ages of 14-24 throughout Brooklyn, and other parts of NYC in the hopes of providing young people with the chance to apply for paid and unpaid summer programming opportunities at the Justice Center and other local businesses and community based organizations.
Additionally, on site (a new feature) we will be having mini breakout session where patrons can attend open session and learn soft skills such as resume writing, interviewing skills, networking and so much more. »
Red Hook Community Resilience Corps!
What is the Red Hook Community Resilience Corps?
The Red Hook Community Resilience Corps is an AmeriCorps National Service Program that seeks to make Red Hook a safer, stronger and more resilient community. Corps members will serve throughout the Justice Center (in Peacemaking, Neighborhood Restitution Crew, Alternatives to Incarceration and Youth and Community Programs). Corps Members will also provide disaster recovery education, work with a mentor to achieve their goals and perform service projects throughout neighborhood.
What is the Commitment?
Corps Members must complete 900 hours of service in one year. Corps members will work part-time (25-28 hours/week) from April 4th-December 31st, 2016. A typical work day will be 9:30-5:30 with occasional evening and weekend obligations.
What Benefits do Corps Members Receive?
Corps members will receive a stipend of $3,759 for their service and an educational award of $2,865 which may be used toward tuition or student loans. Additional benefits include: basic medical coverage, childcare reimbursements, student loan forbearance, training and on the job work experience.

The Office of Youth and Community Programs is now accepting applications for the JustArts: Photography Program at the Red Hook Community Justice Center!
In collaboration with the Brooklyn Arts Council youth ages 14-18 work with professional artists to learn the techniques of the medium, create a variety of pieces to build their art portfolios, participate in critique sessions and show their best work in a final exhibition. Monetary and craft specific equipment and supplies incentives are also provided. Including a $200 Stipend and a Camera for the participant to keep!
