Wait what's happening?
RHI Works will employ 10 young adults to further the work of the public safety Committee, design youth-centered public safety programs, create an inventory of resources for returning citizens, and open opportunities to lift young adult voices in formal community/ civic spaces, all with a lens of reducing police violence. This will be a two-year project slated to begin in December 2020. Organizers will work 15 hours per week. An additional 20 will be hired for the 2022 year. The group will begin meeting in April 2021.
Who is this for?
Any young person between the ages of 18 and 24 who currently lives, or has previously lived in the Red Hook area.

POSITION OVERVIEW
Pioneer Works seeks a Part-Time Visitor Services Attendant to join our Team. Visitor Services Attendants work to welcome and host the public at Pioneer Works during our exhibition’s open hours. The Visitor Services team works on a variety of tasks to serve the public including greeting and checking in the public, soliciting donations, and informing visitors of current offerings and assisting in way-finding. The team also collaborates with our Facilities team to open and close the building. While Pioneer Works is not creating in-person events at this time, the team will eventually assist in welcoming visitors to select programs once it is deemed safe to do so.
The Visitor Services Attendant is a 24 hrs per week position, with a starting wage of $20/hr.
Responsibilities
● Greet, welcome, and check in all visitors for open hours at Pioneer Works, including exhibitions, workshops, and events.
● Engage visitors with knowledge of Pioneer Works exhibitions, programs, residencies and upcoming events
● Usher visitors through our three galleries, manage capacity of each gallery and provide information on each exhibition
● Track gallery attendance, donations, sales & retail stock of lobby bookstore ● Work with Development team to sell on-site memberships
● Check in a high volume of ticketed and vip guests at Pioneer Works events ● Work with Finance team on daily cash reconciliation and reporting
● Work with Facilities team to ensure enforcement around COVID-19 protocols.
Requirements
● Prior experience working in customer-facing roles
● Prior experience in museums, event production or membership a plus Pioneer Works Art Foundation, 159 Pioneer Street, Brooklyn, NY 11231
● Comfortable working independently and in a public facing customer service role ● Ability to work nights or weekends
● Ability to lift 25 lbs.
● Interest in the arts and sciences
