Small Business Growth and Development Workshop

When: Feb 3 2:00 pm-Mar 24, 2019 4:00 pm

Where: RE:GEN:CY 22 commerce st brooklyn

This Small Business Growth and Development Workshop is hosted by Regenerative Resource Network at our community/events space RE GEN CY in Red Hook, Brooklyn. Learn from two women who have developed a self-sufficient community-oriented business in Brooklyn, NY which has consistently demonstrated robust profit margins since it’s first months of operations. The workshop is a 2-month commitment hosted on 5 weekend afternoons during Winter 2019. This program is designed for those who either have an existing small business or for those in a “proof-of-concept” phase. Our workshop will help participants design a plan for sustainable growth and assist with taking their business to the next level. Potential for financing is evaluated on a case by case basis. Cost for participation is free if you attend all 5 sessions. Participants pay $100 initially to be reinvested in the business after program completion. Applicants are admitted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Please apply here: https://docs.google.com/forms/u/1/d/1MQPuBt2Ay6DAlYf-hZIPJ3Mr7DnDHVbWNDc-pP2PQkw/edit#response=ACYDBNga7ovDcWf3Hz2zO7s_XIA7hXriE6Ap7nhmb0B085SpFX6lxT3XbmpkLA Sessions to be held from 2-4pm on the following topics: Feb 3rd: Understanding Key Business Elements Feb 10th: Identifying Growth Opportunities Feb 17th: Conducting Research 1 month break to research opportunities, with virtual support March 16th: Preparing Next Steps March 24th: Presentations and Discussion About our Experience The workshop is held by Ashley Taylor and Cayla Huppert, the co-owners of Regenerative Resource Network. Regenerative Resource Network launched in 2018 and created their first project, RE GEN CY, a community/event space aiming to promote sustainable growth through localism, a belief that people living in a community are better at making decisions that affect them rather than outside parties. We intend for this space to bring together people, projects, resources, and ideas about how to improve local support networks and help communities become more self-sufficient, equal, and diverse. We have a self-sufficient business model through which renting our space for various events, photoshoots and films allows us to subsidize costs of the space for projects which are relevant to our mission. Thus far, the space has been utilized by local nonprofits including Red Hook Art Project, Red Hook Justice Center, and the Alex House Project.
