Coordinator of Red Hook CSA Volunteers

When: Friday, February 16, 2018

Where: Added Value

Added Value and the CSA Core Group are planning for the 2018 farm season. We'll be in touch in April with news and to let you know how to register for next year. We hope you join us in another year of local, fresh food that supports the Red Hook community. In the meantime, the Core Group needs a co-coordinator for CSA volunteers and a better volunteer sign up system. Please let us know if you have any recommendations on volunteer sign up and tracking systems that are effective and easy to use. The volunteer coordinator position requires from 1 to 2 hours a week organizing volunteer lists and contacting the CSA to fill volunteer slots. As a member of the Core Group, the person would get to be part of the operations of the CSA and supporting Added Value. Each Core Group members received one full CSA veggie share free of charge. It is a rewarding and fun opportunity for the right detailed oriented and responsible CSA member. Contact Andrea Foley-Murphy [email protected] and Corey Blant [email protected] with interest or questions.

Donate Today to Send Young Red Hook Activists to National Conference!

When: Feb 16-Jun 16, 2018

Our anti-violence PAR group launched last June. Since our first meeting, the team has done an incredible amount of work learning about anti-violence initiatives and the skills of community research, and digging in to issues affecting young adults in Red Hook. The team identified research questions, conducted over 30 interviews, and held several data collection events and focus groups. In December, the PAR team received an invitation to present at the Innovations in Participatory Democracy Conference. This invitation represents an opportunity for our young adults to share their work on the national stage. With the conference approaching next month, we are raising $10,000 for the trip now! Please share the crowdfunding site with your networks of Red Hook contacts, professional connections, and friends.   https://rhicenter.networkforgood.com/projects/46906-send-brooklyn-youth-to-phoenix-conference
