MAP Crime Dashboard: 1/1/20 – 9/6/20

The MAP Stakeholder Dashboard tracks crime complaints in NYCHA developments served by the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP). This dashboard tallies the total number of index crime complaints, domestic violence complaints, and shooting incidents reported to have occurred on a development’s grounds between January 1st and the most recent week of a given year. Hello Leaders and Community Advocates, Congresswoman Nydia Velasquez's office is putting together a Resident Community Advisory Group for Red Hook. This will be a group of 15 to 25 individuals who will represent Red Hook and Red Hook Houses. Two seats will be appointed by the Resident Council Presidents. If you are interested in participating in this advisory group; please complete the short survey posted below. Community Partners; feel free to share with your members as well. NYCHA Recovery & Resilience: Red Hook Houses Update

To sign up for email updates of the ongoing resilience work at Red Hook Houses please email [email protected] Power Plant & Pods Phase Percentage Completion: 8% Project Start: Q4 2019 Anticipated Completion: Q4 2022 Ongoing Activities: • Continued installation of new underground utility lines by buildings 1W, 2W, and 3W, 5E o New utility lines will be installed throughout the site and will connect to the new utility pods to provide all Red Hook buildings with heat, hot water, and backup electricity • Installation of underground retention tanks by building 4E o The underground retention tanks will capture excess stormwater runoff to help prevent flooding during periods of heavy rainfall o The retention tanks by buildings 2W and 3W were successfully installed and backfilled Upcoming Activities: • Excavation for and instillation of new underground electrical, heating, and plumbing lines between buildings o This work will involve reconfiguring the building exits, however, access to all buildings will remain open and ADA-accessible at all times o Buildings 1E, 2E, 3E, 4E, and 15 through 18 will be the first buildings affected by this work o Residents will be notified in advance via flyers and phone calls once a start date is established o These plans have been shared with property management, resident association presidents, and the FDNY • Drilling of foundation piles for the new utility pods (small buildings) by building 2E, 4E, and 1W (West Pod) o The piles will form the foundation of the new utility pods o The utility pods will house critical electrical and mechanical equipment above the flood elevation to better protect building services during a flood event. • Full demolition of building 28 (590 Clinton Street) o The Red Hook East Plant will be constructed in its place to house standby generators and boiler equipment above the flood elevation

NYCHA Red Hook East Hot Water Interruption – Buildings 1 – 5, Senior and Miccio Center

Please be advised that due to NYCHA Recovery and Resilience work, there will be an interruption to your hot water service on Tuesday, September 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. This interruption has been scheduled during the warmer months to limit service interruptions during heating season.

The purpose of this shutdown is to complete the installation of a temporary steam line. This will allow for the eventual construction of the new East Plant on Clinton Street which will hold new boiler equipment and standby generators above the flood level to provide full backup power and heat to NYCHA Red Hook buildings.
