AmeriCorps Opportunity for Students

When: Friday, April 21, 2017

We are currently recruiting AmeriCorps members to join the Red Hook Community Resilience Corps as our minimum time members. Youth between the ages of 17-24 who may be pursuing a HSE/ HS diploma are eligible to apply. We have a summer program and school year that youth can choose from. Click here for more info. School Year- You will be responsible for 300 hours; most hours will be completed from attending classes. On Fridays, you would come to the Justice Center for workshops and mentoring sessions. They will work one on one with another AmeriCorps member. Members will receive an educational award of $1,221. The program will run between May and October. Summer Program- You will be responsible for 300 hours, some of these hours will come from attending class. The majority of the hours will be from their participation in our Summer Internship program in which they will be trained and place at a site, enhancing their job skills. Members will receive a stipend of $800-$900 in addition to the education award of $1,221. The program will run between June and September.

This is our 2nd Annual Basketball games with the youths of Red-Hook playing side by side with the NYPD and PSA1 Community N.O. Officers. Review your physical space, operations, and insurance coverage 2. Make recommendations and provide you with a customized report on how you can be better prepared for future business interruptions Following the assessment, you can receive a grant of up to $3,000 to buy items and equipment recommended for your business, such as a wireless Point-of-Sale system, fireproof storage containers, and portable generators.
