Red Hook CARES presents “Stepping Out Against Domestic Violence”– Join us for a peace walk around the community in an effort to spread awareness about Domestic Violence, in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.  Meet up at the Red Hook Community Justice Center on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 3:30pm.  You can make your own signs to carry during the walk or join us at 2:30pm in the Mock Court Room to make signs together.  Be sure to wear purple!

The Center for Court Innovation is seeking an Engagement Coordinator for a new community program that will support the Mayor’s Action Plan for Neighborhood Safety (MAP). Underway since 2015 and led by the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice, MAP is a comprehensive strategy to enhance public safety and strengthen community well-being in 15 public housing developments across New York City, including the Red Hook Houses. Red Hook’s MAP Engagement Coordinator will work closely with the Red Hook Community Justice Center to convene local stakeholder groups to discuss, identify, and prioritize community initiatives, access and analyze data, identify and leverage resources, monitor community conditions, and implement projects that address local concerns and enhance public safety and well-being.
