We use industry research to design our training programs to ensure that the skills you learn are the skills employers need. We offer training programs for in-demand occupations across sectors at different locations throughout the city. To take part in one of our training programs or qualify for an Individual Training Grant (ITG), you must meet the following qualifications: Be at least 18 years or older.  Be a New York City resident. Be legally able to work in the United States. Meet all federal selective service requirements  and if employed, earn less than $63,925 per year.  Please note that each training program may require additional qualifications.

Join the NYCHA Board

Board members represent the almost 400,000 people who call NYCHA home. Their responsibilities include voting on contracts, resolutions, polices, rules and regulations and other administrative matters.  Resident members are required to devote a minimum of 15-20 hours each month for which they will receive a monthly stipend per hours of services up to $1,500. To qualify, constituents must be: at least 18 years old; a NYCHA resident in good standing; and cleared for service by the New York City Department of Investigation, the New York City Conflicts of Interest Board and/or NYCHA's Office of the Inspector General The application period will start on September 15, 2018 and end October 15, 2018. Applications will be available online and at the Property Management and Borough Management Offices. Pathways to Graduation offers High School Equivalency Diploma Classes. Sign up today and obtain your TASC diploma and open doors to new opportunities. You must be 17.5 - 21 years old. Placement Test Dates: 2/6, 2/8, 2/13, 2/15, 2/20, 2/22, and 2/27 - at 12:30PM only. As a student you qualify for the Workforce Development Internship Program and can receive: Work readiness training, Professional development, and a stipend. On February 22nd at 4:30pm the Miccio Community Center located on 110 West 9th Street Brooklyn, NY 11231 join us for our traditional style of Bridging the Gap with a new addition, the NYPD Firearm Training Simulation (F.A.T.S). Youth and community members will have the opportunity to learn about the use of firearms and role-play similar encounters police officers may experience. We are excited to announce that we are recruiting for our JustArts: Photography Program. If you know of any young people between the ages of 14 – 18 who are interested in art, photography, want to learn artistic skills, and network with industry professionals. Please have them apply. Summer Jobs for Youth In Red Hook Houses

For the second year now, thanks to the MAP Initiative, there will be guaranteed SYEP summer jobs for all youth (ages 14-24) who live in the Red Hook Houses. The application process just opened and the deadline is March 16th. The application is now available online and can be filled out through a computer or smartphone. See all the details below and flyer attached. Please direct any interested youth to our new open computer hours Leslie is facilitating. The Open Lab hours are Mondays and Fridays from 10:30-12:30pm and 2:30-4:00pm. Please ask every young person who lives in Red Hook NYCHA to apply. They do not have to be on the lease or family composition in NYCHA, but it does need to be their primary address. If any young people want to fill out an application here, they may come to the computer lab during open hours or speak to Leslie (718-923-8242) to work with her or arrange an alternate time.
