Join United by Blue and honeygrow for a cleanup of Brooklyn’s Upper Bay at Valentino Pier and Park!
When the Dutch first settled in Brooklyn in the 1600s, they were interested in using the Upper Bay as path of transportation. As settlement and industry grew, Red Hook became an active shipping center by the 19th century. Today, the tucked away pier and park serve as a recreation hub for New Yorkers. With views of the Statue of Liberty and Upper Bay, Valentino Pier and Park offers a large green space for Brooklyn locals and visitors alike. Unfortunately, trash builds up in the park. Debris from the nearby industries, and washed up litter, get stuck in the rocky shoreline and contaminate the park. We need your help to restore this Brooklyn oasis and keep the Upper Bay clean for people to enjoy for generations to come!
United By Blue will provide all of the cleanup supplies, and volunteers will also have the chance to win United By Blue prizes during two cleanup games. In addition, honeygrow will have snacks for everyone participating in the cleanup! Please be sure to wear closed toe shoes and clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty or wet! Groups of all sizes are welcome!
