Every three years, NYU Langone Health (including NYU Langone Health – Brooklyn, formerly known as Lutheran Medical Center) facilitates a Community Health Needs Assessment and develops a Community Service Plan (CSP) addressing some of the top needs identified by the communities they serve. For the past 4 years, the focus of the Brooklyn CSP has been on the Sunset Park community. We are excited that, this year, the focus will include the Red Hook community.
Over the past few months, Alex House Project, Good Shepherd Services, Red Hook Community Justice Center, Red Hook Initiative, Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, and NYU Department of Population Health have been meeting to begin designing the needs assessment. Our goal is to review data and information from community members about their health needs and priorities that can then be used to help shape programs to address those concerns and to reduce inequalities in the neighborhood. We are reaching out to you to join us in this conversation.
