Training: Monday to Friday 9am – 3pm at RHI (Tea Park but moving to Coffey Park on conflict days) Beginning 1/28
Payment: $250 at the end of each week (Friday)
About: Paid 4-week training to prepare and match residents to union employment, training provides OSHA-30, Scaffolding Upon completion of the program, P2A will arrange for interviews with at least three (3) different building trades unions (Laborers, Local 79, the Painters, District Council 9, and the Ironworkers, Local 46) for placement of all Resident Participants in State Certified Apprenticeship Programs (SCAPs). Further, consistent with the P2A model, P2A will offer mentorship support to all Resident Participants throughout the course of their apprenticeships, which will assist them in sustaining union careers.
Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, a Red Hook resident on the lease in NYCHA, have GED or High School Diploma, committed to the union construction field , able to pass a drug test at the end of the training period (February 22nd)
Documentation required: ID, proof of residency at NYCHA, proof of High School Diploma or GED
