Power Plant & Pods Phase Percentage Completion: 41%
Project Start: Q4 2019
Anticipated Completion: Q4 2023
Ongoing Activities:
• Installation of new windows at first and second-floor apartments adjacent to the new utility pods across the site
• Steel erection and installation of the fourth and fifth-floor metal decking at the East Plant
• Installation of brick façade at the utility pod next to building 15 (28 W 9th Street)
• Continued construction of all utility pods (small buildings) including but not limited to installation of framing, facades, electrical equipment, and roofing
• Installation of underground conduit throughout the site to provide essential services, including heat and hot water, to all Red Hook buildings
• [Non-Sandy work activity] Local Law 11 façade inspection and repair is underway at buildings 1, 23, and 24
o Sidewalk sheds have been installed in those areas and will likely remain for several months
Upcoming Activities:
• Temporary street parking closures at Columbia between Lorraine and West 9th Street will begin on April 18 for approximately six (6) weeks to facilitate the installation of underground conduit that will help better protect Red Hook buildings from unplanned utility outages
o Stakeholders will be notified of the upcoming closures via flyer postings several days before work begins
• Relocation of maintenance and management spaces to facilitate floodproofing work in building basements
