We use industry research to design our training programs to ensure that the skills you learn are the skills employers need. We offer training programs for in-demand occupations across sectors at different locations throughout the city. To take part in one of our training programs or qualify for an Individual Training Grant (ITG), you must meet the following qualifications: Be at least 18 years or older.  Be a New York City resident. Be legally able to work in the United States. Meet all federal selective service requirements  and if employed, earn less than $63,925 per year.  Please note that each training program may require additional qualifications.

Join the NYCHA Board

Board members represent the almost 400,000 people who call NYCHA home. Their responsibilities include voting on contracts, resolutions, polices, rules and regulations and other administrative matters.  Resident members are required to devote a minimum of 15-20 hours each month for which they will receive a monthly stipend per hours of services up to $1,500. To qualify, constituents must be: at least 18 years old; a NYCHA resident in good standing; and cleared for service by the New York City Department of Investigation, the New York City Conflicts of Interest Board and/or NYCHA's Office of the Inspector General The application period will start on September 15, 2018 and end October 15, 2018. Applications will be available online and at the Property Management and Borough Management Offices. Community Health Needs Assessment Online

Every three years, NYU Langone Health (including NYU Langone Health – Brooklyn, formerly known as Lutheran Medical Center) facilitates a Community Health Needs Assessment and develops a Community Service Plan (CSP) addressing some of the top needs identified by the communities they serve. For the past 4 years, the focus of the Brooklyn CSP has been on the Sunset Park community. We are excited that, this year, the focus will include the Red Hook community. Over the past few months, Alex House Project, Good Shepherd Services, Red Hook Community Justice Center, Red Hook Initiative, Family Health Centers at NYU Langone, and NYU Department of Population Health have been meeting to begin designing the needs assessment.
